A wall graphic is typically either self-adhesive vinyl applied directly to the painted surface or paste-hung non-woven wallpaper for a full mural.
If the graphic is wider than the roll, it is divided into panels with a small overlap and supplied in the correct hanging order. The surface determines the most suitable material: smooth painted plaster can use standard wall film, while render, brick and blockwork require a high-tack film designed for textured surfaces.

Questions we get asked
How do you handle a wall wider than the roll?
Large wall graphics are divided into vertical panels with around 15 mm of overlap and numbered in the correct hanging order.
Panel joins are positioned where possible to avoid cutting through faces, logos or important details. The panel split is provided for approval before production.
How long after painting can a graphic go up?
Allow fresh paint several weeks to fully cure before applying wall graphics. Applying vinyl to uncured paint can trap solvents beneath the film, preventing the adhesive from bonding properly and increasing the risk of paint lifting during removal.
Clean the wall thoroughly and allow it to dry completely before application.
What resolution do I need for a three metre wall?
A mural is typically viewed from one to two metres away, so around 100 DPI at final size is generally sufficient. Higher resolution usually adds little benefit at this viewing distance.
The source artwork matters far more. Use a large vector file or a genuinely high-resolution photograph rather than a small web image scaled up to mural size.
Will it stick to a textured wall?
Standard wall film is not suitable for textured surfaces, as it can bridge the texture and begin lifting within days. Render and brick require a high-tack, conformable film that can be worked into the surface using heat and a brush.
This type of application is intended as a permanent installation rather than a removable graphic.
Can it be taken off at the end of the lease?
Low-tack wall film applied to sound, fully cured paint is designed to remove cleanly in one piece. However, results can vary on unknown or unsuitable surfaces.
If protecting the existing finish is important, test a small area in an inconspicuous corner first and allow for potential touch-up work after removal.
